Relive is an app used by more than 14 million people to track and share their outdoor adventures. Everything from epic bike rides in the mountains to long walks in the forest. ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿซ Head of Performance Marketingย 

The Head of Performance Marketing (HoPM) introduces Relive to performance marketing. That means they need to have the experience and desire to be hands-on, to build the machine so we can get the first campaigns running and measured within weeks. Needless to say, you'll get access to our devs and data team to help you out.


After that, the focus shifts towards growing and leading the performance marketing team and making sure the team can efficiently execute effective campaigns at scale.


Your job is to successfully grow and lead our performance marketing team and efforts to boost Relive's growth. More specifically, we expect the performance marketing team to acquire over 10M Relive users within 2 years!


๐Ÿ”ญ What we're looking for

๐Ÿ‘ Our HoPM is:

Hands-on - you love to dig in and get some campaigns running. It's also a strong requirement as you'll be the first one in and we like to see some early results to boost confidence and learn fast.


Strategic - You define, own, and execute our long-term paid UA strategy. You'll be in charge of developing our testing strategy to quickly understand the profitability and scale of channels. You report directly to our CEO, Lex.


A team builder - you know who you want on your team and you will play a central role in getting them on board. Needless to say, our recruiters will work with you! Together, you build and mentor a brilliant growth team with a high sense of ownership and a culture of getting stuff done.


A team player - a team can only kick-ass when they're happy and motivated! You'll make sure both apply. You're always looking at how we can improve and pushing those around you to be the best they can be.


Analytical - you know performance marketing at scale is a numbers game and that it is important to get the measurements right in order to make the optimal allocation choices. You know that there's always room for improvement so you appreciate the benefit of A/B testing to help understand the impact we're having.


๐Ÿ‘Ž On the flip side, our HoPM is not:

Telling us 'but it is good for brand awareness' - if you can't make a measurable impact or just like to run campaigns you think are cool, Relive isn't the place.


A perfectionist - we've got a long journey ahead. You need to be willing to move quickly, experiment and fail. Not every process needs to be perfected before we move on to the next. High standards are great, moving slowly will kill us.


Job requirements

๐Ÿ™‹ Who you are

  • Experience - Youโ€™ve helped build and scale performance marketing teams within the mobile industry before. Youโ€™ve spent at least 6 years on performance marketing from strategy to execution in a start-up, B2C environment. The last 3 years you gained experience in managing and mentoring high-performance growth teams, responsible for monthly budgets over 1M.
  • Knowledge - Advanced knowledge of marketing data stack, attribution, BU economics.
  • Strong instincts - You're opinionated about what makes a campaign great, and dare to to make a bet and be decisive. You're humble enough to know that you can be wrong.
  • Analytical - Strong analytical skills and experimentation mindset that drives decision-making (bias towards evidence-based campaign design)
  • Scaling teams - You know how to attract great talent to Relive. You've experienced the challenges that we'll face when going from 0 to a world-class performance marketing organisation.
  • Fast learner, eager to share - Youโ€™re always looking to grow your own skills and love to share what you learn with the rest of the team.

We believe working at Relive should, just like our product, help you lead a healthy and happy life. It's important to be able to work flexibly - where you work, when you work. Being able to head out for a run to clear your head, or being able to work from nature for a few weeks per year. How much time you spend in front of your keyboard isn't what matters.

That's why we work remote first. It means our way of working enables remote working for everyone. It's up to you where and when you want to work. We trust you to spend your time wisely. All our rituals and teams are designed for remote working. You can work in any country in the +/- 1 hour CET time zone range, as we've not mastered the art of working across many timezones and we don't plan to invest our time in that challenge in the next few years.


We do have an office in Rotterdam ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ where you can work if you prefer a physical space, and we're happy to help you relocate here if you choose. Like to have a change of scenery? You can work from any co-working space, no matter where you're located. We'll cover these costs.


We expect everyone on the team to get together a few times a year as we think it's important to make in-person bonds to strengthen our relations. That means a few times a year you can expect to travel to spend time with your team, make connections, and have fun together, like our retreat in September ๐Ÿ‘‡ย
